Bemis Walter E., 83, formerly Mtka, died 4/30/02 in Brainerd. Born 11/28/18 in Princeton to Eugene & Inez (Lund) Bemis. Married Lorraine Svitak June 5, 1967. Owned and operated W.E. Bemis Engineering Co., Mpls for 21 years. Later owned and operated Walt's Garrison Package Store for 12 years. Member Zuhrah Shrine, Scottish Rite, Joppa Masonic Lodge #300, Garrison VFW. Past president Zuhrah Shrine Mobile Nobles; past lieutenant Zuhrah Shrine Horsemen; charter president Garrison Lions Club; past chairman Bay Lake Township Board; past director Crow Wing County Township Officers Assoc. Served in US Navy, Pacific Theatre during WWII. Survived by wife, Lorraine; daughter, Barbara and granddaughter, Emily. Service 11 AM Fri., First Lutheran Church, Brainerd.
