Matt Walter L., age 87, formerly of Little Canada, died on April 21, 2002. Former editor of The Wanderer, founding editor of The Remnant. Preceded in death by father, Joseph, Papal Knight of St. Gregory and mother, Marie. He will be missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Marilyn; children, Mary Williams (Jonathon), Catherine Laskey (John), Gretchen Mills (James), W. Joseph (Christina), Jane Cain (Colin), Joan Bourbeau (Joseph), Michael (Carol), Christina Matt, Carolyn Brannon (Thomas); 33 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, Raymond and Rachel; sister, Hildegund Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday at Willwerscheid & Peters Mortuary, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul. Requiem Mass at the Church of St. Augustine, 403 N. Third St., South St. Paul at 1 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2002, the 48th anniversary of his marriage to beloved and faithful wife who stood by him to the end. There's no such think as coincidence.
