Fretland William E. (Bill), age 97. Born Dec. 17, 1904 in Pelican Rapids, MN to John and Mary Fretland. Worked at Marshwells and Hanson Ace Hardware. Member of Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, Duluth, MN. Delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at Damiane Center. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret C. (Marge); daughter, Wyllis Ann (Richard) Gierdal; grandchildren, Scott (Patrice) Gierdal, Wendy (Dave) Fischer; four great-grandchildren, Sara, Sidney, Shelby Gierdal, Kayla Fischer; sister, Maude Krogstad; also nieces and nephews.
