Garven Harold E. "Hal" Garven of Sun City, AZ and formerly of Golden Valley, MN, has gone home to be with the Lord on April 17th, 2003 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by grandson, Jeffrey David Garven. Survived by his wife, Thelma, of 67 years, and their daughters, Margo Garven and Gayle Hanson and son, David Garven and wife Gayle. Grandchildren are Laura Merkle, Jeanine Christenson, Steven Merkle, Bradley Hanson, Brian Hanson, Joel Hanson and Jennifer Simon, as well as ten great- grandchildren. Hal was well-known in the Twin City area in the 1940's - 60's as a singer on WCCO Radio and owner of a well-respected entertainment agency. His trio, "The Three Tones," recorded many of the top commercials during this era. A celebration of Hal's life will be held May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Road, Woodbury, MN 55125. 651-739- 5744. The family requests memorials be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, Inc., in lieu of flowers.
