Quiel Gerond "Jerry", age 71, of Maple Grove passed away peacefully Friday, April 25, at Wellstead of Rogers. Preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Debbie. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlyne; daughters, Wendie McAllaster of Kailua, HI, Tammie (Patrick) Gillespie of Huntington Beach, CA; and son, James (Sandy) Quiel of Saginaw, MI. Also grandchildren, Christopher and Sara McAllaster, Allison and Thomas Gillespie and Kelly Quiel; mother-in-law, Alice Kniebel of Stillwater; two sisters-in-law; and four nieces and nephews also survive. Jerry served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and then was an elementary principal in Rochester, MN before going into sales for Multi-Clean Products and Starkey Hearing Aides. He retired in 1998. Over the years, he was involved in many civic and professional organizations and active at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 3 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis, followed by lunch and time for visitation. (Parking available beneath Wells Fargo Bank on 13th St. between Nicollet Mall and Marquette Ave). Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater for family and friends following the visitation.
