Elmer (Poppy) Goodman

Goodman Elmer ``Al'' (Poppy), age 87, of Shoreview, on April 5, 2002. Preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor and Helen. Beloved husband of Lorraine; son, Allan (Janet); daughter, Pat (Dennis) Humphreys; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Tuesday, April 9, 2002, 11 AM at ST. JOSEPH OF LINO LAKES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 171 Elm Street. Private interment. Al was born January 3, 1915 in Calumet, Michigan and graduated from high school in 1933. He entered railway mail service in 1936 and retired as postmaster of Rockford, MN in 1973. After retiring from the mail service, he worked at a circuit board company, LaBells discount store and H.R. Block. Al also served as councilman, acting mayor, planning commission, clerk-treasurer of city of Greenfield. He later owned Goodman's Tax Service, which he sold upon moving to Shoreview.
