Geyer Paul, age 83. Born in Poland on Sept. 6, 1919, died April 23, 2003 in Detroit Lakes, MN. Paul immigrated to the United States in 1950, moved to Mpls in 1955. Became a pioneer of downhill and cross country skiing, as well as race walking. Owner and operator of Tatra Ski Shop, Tatra Ski Club/Ski School and the Mpls Ski & Sports Show. Pioneered Fleet Marine in Florida and formed Ski & Travel International, Inc. Paul returned to Rochert, MN in 1993, married Doris Berglund of Detroit Lakes, MN on May 20, 1999. World class race walker since 1986 winning numerous U.S. & international titles. Paul was a man who loved sports and people. He lived a full life and never forgot his friends. He is loved and will be missed. Preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister & first wife. Survived by his wife, Doris; daughter, Anna (Richard) Heinrich; son, Stan (Beverly) Geyer; stepson, John (Brenda) Berglund; 4 grandchildren; ex-wife, and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren. Funeral service 11 AM Monday, April 28 in Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, MN. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. Visitation 5-8 pm Sunday at: West-Kjos Funeral Home 218-847-7279
