Olson Jeanette M. Olson, of Cambridge, formerly of Stanchfield, passed away on April 23, 2003 at Cambridge Medical Center at the age of 86 years. She is preceded in death by husband, Elmer Lindeman in 1968 and husband Wilfred Olson in 1986 and brothers Woodrow in 1991 and Kermit in 2003. Jeanette was employed at the Stanchfield Post Office as clerk from July 1937 to Nov. 1963. She was then appointed postmaster, serving until her retirement on December 31, 1974. In June of 1974 she was selected "Minnesota Postmaster of the Year" and in 1972 she received a perfect inspection award. She was active in Stanchfield Baptist Church and community. She was pianist and Sunday School secretary for 12 years, and WLRC member for 17 years. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope officiating. Interment will be in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27 at the Rock Mankie Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Jeanette is survived by sister-in-law Goralene Peterson of Mendota Heights; nephew Jerome (Joanne) Peterson of Princeton; nieces Gloria Peterson of Fargo, ND, Diana (Tom) Mulvihill of Mendota Heights and Nancy (Ralph) Krafve of Minneapolis; many great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
