Hokanson Doris (Dodie) Arlene Hokanson In Loving Memory Doris Arlene Hokanson was born on October 25, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, where she lived and worked until 1968, when she and her family moved to Tucson, AZ. Doris is survived by her son, Steve; her brother & sister-in-law, Erwin & Beverly Northey; and many nieces & nephews. Dodie, working hard all of her life, still had the time to be a loving wife and mother. Married to Vernon Hokanson, they raised their son, Steven. Dodie's accomplishments were many, everything from rug tufting, to helping build block walls with Vern and Steve. Early in life, Dodie worked as a cocktail waitress in Minneapolis, where she made many friends and lasting relationships. Moving to Tucson, she became a part owner in Bar 22. Dodie was what they call a people person.'' She could listen and talk for hours with just about anyone and still like them.'' She will be missed for her gift of gab'' and her sincerity with family and friends. Dodie's legacy is one of love of family, friends, and of life. Dodie, would you play us a tune on the organ? We will miss you! Services in Tucson were held on October 7, 2002 at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church. Memorial Services will be Wed., April 30th at 1 PM at the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery immediately following Service. Please join us for a light lunch following interment at the Embassy Suites Hotel across from the Cemetery. Please send Memorials to American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
