Jorgensen Clara Marie Jorgensen was born on June 27, 1913 in Ord, Nebraska to Lars and Bodil Jensen. She moved to Askov in 1918 and attended Askov School through 8th grade. She married Jorgen on February 16, 1932. Jorgen and Clara farmed in Partridge Township. She worked at the Sandstone School as a teacher's aide. She was an activist particularly with battered and abused children. She was very anti-war. She loved children. She was very proud of receiving the Flame of Courage award from the Coalition of Women and inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame of the DFL. Klara passed away at her residence in Askov on April 7, 2003. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Jorgen Jorgensen of Askov, MN; her son, Donald (Pamela) Jorgensen of Londonderry, NH; her daughter, Evelyn (Ernest) Borchardt of Askov, MN; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Blessed be her memory. There will be no service for Klara. Arrangements by Hansen-Mankie Funeral Home.
