Perry Murray S. Perry age 73, died peacefully on April 9, 2003. Born December 9, 1929 in Raleigh, NC; orphaned at an early age by death of parents, Rachel and Fred Perry. Raised in Hughes Memorial Home, graduated from Whitmell Farm-Life School in Danville, VA, follwed by Veterinary School, semi pro sports, wounded Korean War veteran US Air Force. Murray worked under union jurisdiction before employed by Blue and White Cab as a dispatcher, driver, shop steward and Board Member of Teamster Local 958; later merged with Teamster Local 792, and a became a Business Agent and Board Member until resigned. He was appointed a Mediator with the State of MN, Bureau of Mediation Services and retired as Director in February 1995. Survived by wife of 35 years, A. Jeanette "Jan" Perry; daughters, Anna and Virginia; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; step-children, Mary and Betty (James) White, Jan Anthony (Katrina) Carlson; 9 step-grandchildren, and 2 great step-grandchildren; nieces, Annalee, Ginger, Kitty, Felica and families in Florida and many lovely friends and relatives. Preceding Murray in death, his son, Mpls. Police Cadet Daniel M. Perry; sisters, Nellie, Betty (Easley)Maultsby of Pensacola, FL; great step-grandson, James Rousu. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Allina Hospice & Palliative Care or Neuropathy Assoc. Murray was an active member of American Legion Post 303, 7365 Central Ave NE, Fridley, MN, 763-784-9824; gathering will be Friday, April 11, 2003, 10am with a Memorial service at 11am.
