Engel Gary J. Engel, age 60 of Apple Valley on April 8, 2003, formerly of Darwin, MN, Bloomington, DeRidder, LA and Tacoma, WA. Retired Pressman and Production Manager for the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Tech Rep for Boise Cascade Paper, Rainy River Paper, Abitibi Consolidated Paper and Mead Paper. Member of the Knights of Columbus formerly in Litchfield and currently in Shakopee. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Madge (Long) Engel; sister, Marilyn (Engel) Kocon. Survived by brother, George (Helen) Engel of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, Stan Kocon of Jordan; 4 nieces, Mary Kay (Bob) Baden, Maureen (Mike) Kurvers, Marnie (Greg) Cervenka, Maureen O'Keefe; 6 nephews, Craig (Lois) Kocon, Kent (Kathi) Kocon, Mark (Sandy) Kocon, Chris Engel, Keven O'Keefe, Greg O'Keefe; adopted sons, J. Michael Vossen of Ft. Pierce, FL and Richard Thompson of Olympia, WA. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday 12 Noon at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Shakopee. Interment Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 3-7 P.M. at the Cavanaugh-McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 East Third Ave., Shakopee.
