Ueland Eric Ueland, 69. After a prolonged illness Eric died of lung failure on March 27. Born in Minneapolis, Eric grew up in the Linden Hills neighborhood near Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet. He attended the Blake School were he excelled as a swimmer and was elected captain of the swimming team. He graduated from Harvard and earned a Master's degree in ecology from Yale. Later he worked as a city planner in Trenton, NJ and at the Minneapolis City Planning Commission. He served in the US Army and was stationed at Stuttgart, Germany. Throughout most of his adult life Eric was afflicated with brain disease. In spite of his mental illness, Eric's endearing personality won many friends. He is survived by brother, Mark of Philadelphia; and sister, Clara of Medina. Memorials may be sent to the Blake School, Hopkins, MN. The Funeral Directors 612-866-6711
