Marian E. Sweeney, age 87, died March 22, 2002, following a brief dignified battle with lung cancer. She spent her final days with family and loved ones, sharing with them the humor, strength and love that characterized her life. Marian was deeply loved by her husband of 43 years, John A. Sweeney, who died in 1984. She was beloved mother of and inspiration to seven children and 12 grandchildren, and gracious hostess and surrogate mother to all who visited her home. Born in Butte, MT on March 16, 1915, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Anton and Mary Manetta Heringer, and her brother, John Jacob Heringer. She is survived by sons, John Michael and wife Angeles Juarez, William Patrick and wife Janis Theobald, Joseph Anthony and wife Wendy, Thomas David and wife Carla, Terrence Richard and wife Barbara; and daughters, Mary Ann Sweeney and partner Jack Dyer, and Kathleen Schnobrich and husband, John Schnobrich; sisters, Doris Zagorda of Billings, MT and Jean Fritzen of Spokane, WA. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, #6 Interlachen Rd, Hopkins. (Dir: On Excelsior Blvd, West 1.8 miles from Hwy #100 or East 1 mile from Hwy #169, turn south on Interlachen Rd.). Pvt int. Lakewood Cemetery.
