Dr. Donald Jorgensen
Jorgensen Dr. Donald Jorgensen 72, of Willmar and Spicer, died from Leukemia at his home on Sunday. Services will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Vinje Lutheran Church, Willmar, MN. The Family prefers Memorials to Vinje Lutheran Church, Luther Seminary or the Boy Scouts of America. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home 1000 19th Ave SW, Willmar (320-235-0545). Donald Royce Jorgensen was born on April 20, 1930, at Luck, Wisconsin, the son of Harry Alvin and Anna (Jensen) Jorgensen. He grew up Luck where he attended Luck Public Schools, graduating in 1948. Don continued his education receiving his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and continued his education in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois. He completed his residency at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, later practicing in St. Paul for six years, prior to moving to Willmar in 1972. Don practiced Ophthalmology in Willmar, MN from 1972 to 1996. He retired in 1996 after 30 years of service. Don was actively involved with his church, the Boy Scouts of America, and other community organizations. Surviving is his wife Virginia "Jinny"; children, Karen Jorgensen, Bloomington, Kari (and Jon) Yankey, Iowa City, IA, Jon Donald Jorgensen, Eugene, Oregon, and his brother Virgil Jorgensen, Studio City, CA.
