Kvernstoen Ruth, 95, died peacefully on March 27 at the Walker Methodist Health Center, where she had lived for the past several years. Ruth was born in Dalton, MN in 1908 to Engebret and Ingeborg Kvernstoen. She attended a one-room country school (District #8) learning the English language there which she used eloquently. She later moved to Mpls to live with her sisters, where she spent the rest of her gracious and kind life. Not one to ring her own bell, she was unfailingly kind and generous to those she met. Her gracious spirit will live on in those of us that knew her, long after we have forgotten the flashier deeds of others. Ruth spent most of her working life at the Schweigert Meat Company, where she worked in administration. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ole, Otto, Otto, Carl, Inga, Ottelie, Laura and Marie. She is survived by sister-in-law, Ruth Kvern- stoen of Fergus Falls; nieces, Kristie Martinka and Constance Adams; nephews, David and Steven Kvernstoen; as well as several grand nieces & nephews. Memorial gathering will be held Monday, March 31, 2:30-3:30 pm at Walker Methodist Health Center Chapel, 3737 Bryant Ave. S., Mpls. Private interment in Dalton, MN.
