Richard Raymond Koontz

Koontz Richard Raymond Koontz, 82, passed away March 16, 2003, leaving members of his family, including wife Mary; daughters, Kathy Kuyper, Pat Jostad (Howard); sons, Richard (Caren), Stephen (Kerith); grandchildren, Seth Parker (Angela), Jesse Parker (Susie), Chris Kuyper, Viva Simsik, Max Peck; and great-grandchildren, Jack and Ben Parker. Richard graduated from USC and the NROTC in 1943 and received a commission in the US Navy, Supply Corps. He received the Legion of Merit upon retirement from the Navy. Richard made many friends among the doctors, nurses and assistants that helped care for him at Methodist Hospital and the MN Masonic Home. The family is very grateful to them all. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Methodist, MN Masonic Home, or to a charity of choice.
