Irene Sweeney Donaldson

Donaldson Irene Sweeney Donaldson, 83, of Wayzata, MN, died peacefully on March 15 at her vacation home in Carefree, AZ. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 37 years, Frank A. Donaldson, Jr.; mother, Lillian Brooder Sweeney; sisters, Helen (Charles) Murnane and Doris Sweeney. Survived by loving sons, Frank "Sandy" Donaldson (Debbie) of Wayzata, Jock Donaldson (Sara) of Minneapolis; brother, John Sweeney (Julie, deceased) of Roseville, MN; six grandchildren - Ryan, Scott, Sam, Jamie, Lucy and William; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her wonderful team of loving caregivers and the good folks at Hospice of the Valley, Scottsdale, AZ. Irene was a member of Woodhill Country Club, the Minneapolis Club, and Desert Forest Golf Club. She loved people, music, dancing, parties, and you knew where you stood with Irene. She had a great eye for all things beautiful. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Stroke Association. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Thurs., April 24 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Marquette Ave, Minneapolis. Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
