Walsh Joyce E., age 65, of Lanesboro, MN, died Sat., March 15, 2003 at her home. Born Aug. 8, 1937 to John & Ruth Fowler in Blairsburg, IA. She attended Hansell Iowa High School & St. Theresa's College in Winona, MN. Married Michael Walsh Sept. 24, 1960 at St. Patrick's Church in Hampton, IA. She lived in Chanhassen, MN for 34 years where she raised her 6 children and the last 5 years she had lived in rural Lanesboro, MN. A homemaker, an active member and volunteer at St. Hubert's Parish, coached girls softball and lead many youth activities in Chanhassen, MN. Member of St. Patrick's Parish in Lanesboro, MN. She retired to rural Lanesboro where she continued her passion for gardening flowers, vegetables and fruits. She enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly. She had a love for creative arts, including painting, sewing and crafting. She enjoyed companionship and friendships of many family and friends. Joyce had a strong religious faith. Survived by her husband, Michael Walsh (retired Lutheran Brotherhood Ins. M.I.S.); 4 sons, Martin (Cindy) of Chaska, Jack (Sydney) of Duluth, Matt of Index, WA and Mike of St. Louis Park; 2 daughters, Jane (Scott) Kudlas of Richmond, VA and Maura (Mark) Olson of St. Cloud; 8 grandchildren; 3 brothers, James (Mary) Fowler of Wheatland, WY, Jerry (Donna) Fowler of Cedarville, WI and Joe Fowler of Comming, GA; 3 sisters, Janis (Gerry) Peterson of Davis, CA, Jean Bodensteiner of Neveda, IA and June (Jim) Mackey of Richmond, IN. Preceded in death by parents; 1 brother; and an infant sister. Funeral 11:00 AM Thurs., March 20, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro, MN. Visitation Wed., March 19, 2003 from 6-8 PM, with a 7:30 PM prayer service at Johnson-Riley Funeral Home, Lanesboro and at church one hour prior to service Thurs. Memorials preferred to Mayo Hospice Program.
