Laura Clarene Bay

Bay Laura Clarene, 97, of Wayzata, died March 7. A career secretary and bookkeeper, she was office manager and treasurer of the F.R. Johnston Company, Des Moines, IA and a long-time secretary of the Polk County, Iowa Board of Supervisors and Assessors Office before her retirement and move to Hopkins, MN in 1971. She was a published poet. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Robbinsdale, MN. Born in Humeston, IA, October 28, 1906. Miss Bay attended Drake University, Des Moines, IA, where she was a member of the Delta Phi Delta Sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Ellsworth Bay & Sarah Melissa Lewis Bay, and all 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and their families. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 10 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 36th & Hennepin. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM. Memorials preferred to donor's choice. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
