Verdie J. Volden

Volden Verdie J., of Farmington, at the age of 102. Verdie was born on his family's farm on Nov. 20, 1900 to Bertha & John Volden of Milan, MN. He was married on Jan. 25, 1928 to Beula Wells in Dakota County, MN. Verdie worked all of his life as a road contractor, first with his brothers at Volden Brothers Construction, then later in his own company, Volden Construction. Verdie passed away on Friday, March 7 at the Trinity Nursing Home in Farmington. Verdie was preceded in death by son, David; son-in-law, Math Fischer; grandson, John and granddaughter, Sue. Survived by wife, Beula; daughter, Ann Fischer; grandson, Peter (Sue) Fischer; granddaughter, Liza (Jim) Robson and 5 great-grandchildren, Nissa, Mikkel, Karin, Rachel and Mathias. Visitation Sunday, March 9 from 2-4 pm at the White Funeral Home (901 3rd St). Services will be held at the Farmington Lutheran Church on Monday, March 10 at 11 am.
