Helen Marie Westby

Westby Helen Marie, age 71, of Golden Valley, died Feb. 27, 2003. Born in North Dakota, Helen moved to MN in the 1950's where she met and married her husband, John Westby. Originally a teacher, she followed her dreams to art school and a lifelong love of painting. She also shared her artistic visions through vibrantly colored gardens, both at home and at the cabin. Always a mentor, always kind, always fair, always a friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Bertha Johnson; husband, John. Survived by son, Eric; brothers, Joseph & Jerome Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Westby; other family and friends. Memorial service Friday 11 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley. Visitation one hour prior to service.
