Maddox Isabel Ferguson (McGougan), age 68. Born August 26, 1933; died February 27, 2002. Preceded in death by husband, Rudolph; parents, Mary and Malcolm McGougan; nephew, James McGougan; and father-in-law, James. Loved and survived by daughter, Catherine, and her husband, Winston Wiley; son, Phillip, and his wife, Rene and children. Also brothers and sisters residing in Scotland, Fergus, Stewart, and Malcolm McGougan, Callum Robertson, Catherine MacLean, Maureen McPherson, and their families; mother-in-law, Hilda; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doris, James, Mildred Pope, Alfred, Wendell, Marie Anderson, Gloria Miller, Ivory Johnson, Charles, Jacqueline, and their families; many other relatives. As a former teacher's aide and nurse's aide, Isabel was committed to the care and well-being of children and the elderly. She worked for the Minneapolis School System for 28 years mostly with special needs chldren with whom she felt a strong bond. Prior to that, Isabel spent many years caring for the sick and elderly in nursing care facilities. Isabel was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. A pet lover, she enjoyed the company of her cats and dogs which gave her great comfort and companionship. The family wishes to thank Isabel's friends and the nurses, doctors, and aides at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Fairview Home Care and Hospice, and Ebenezer Ridges Care Center. Visitation Monday, March 4 from 5:30-7:00 PM and Funeral Tuesday, March 5 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior to service, all at Werness Brothers, 3700 Nicollet Ave S., Mpls. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and cards, Isabel wishes donations be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Humane Society. WERNESS BROTHERS 612-824-2624
