Teske, Richard Paul Of Arlington, VA, died on August 11, 2014 at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. of com-plications of cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Judi; sister Patricia Stoven (Roger), niece Kirstin Lund (Chris), nephew Reed Stoven (Sa-mantha) and many relatives and friends. Richard was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth where he later taught and from which he received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws degree. He was a Renaissance man with well-developed interests in architecture, politics, history, philosophy and rhetoric. He managed numerous political campaigns in Minnesota and ran unsuccessfully for State Treasurer before he began his ser-vice in senior political positions at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services where he was involved in ground-breaking Medi-care and Medicaid initiatives. He served as the head of the Washington office for Burroughs Well-come, established his own con-sulting firm, and was a gubernatorial appointee to the Virginia Board of Health Professions. He will be remembered for his wit, wisdom, humor, encyclopedic knowledge, love of classic cars, and so much more. Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, August 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Falls Church Home, 1102 West Broad Street, (Rt 7). Funeral services will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1910 North Randolph Street, Arlington, VA on Monday, August 18 at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Columbia Gardens Cemetery.
