Eileen Long
Long Eileen Long, 54, Prescott, after a courageous battle with cancer passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 20, at her home. Eileen was born April 13, 1948 in New Kensington, PA, the daughter of F. Wayne and Mary L. (Chesney) Long. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Lasher; and two nieces, Kristin and Sarah. Her parents preceded her in death. Eileen was a 1970 graduate of Thiel College, Greenville, PA. She was a long time banker with First Bank, retiring as a Vice President to start her photography business. Eileen specialized in wedding, portrait and outdoor photography. Her passion for life gave her the ability to seize the moment and capture what she saw on film. As a naturalist she studied birds and wildlife and restored the prairie at her home. She was instrumental in founding the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award. Memorials are preferred to Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute, Northland College, Ashland, WI; The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244; Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center, 12805 St. Croix Trail, Hastings, MN 55033.
