Nonie M. Timberlake

Timberlake Nonie M., passed Sat., Feb 22, 2003, peacefully at her St Paul home. Her husband, Rev. I.C. Timberland, preceded her in death. She leaves to survive her daughter, Gwendolyn Timberlake, DDS, of St Paul. Mrs. Timberlake graduated from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, TX and was appointed as an elementary principal after graduation. During WWII, she worked as a postal sorter and later as a welder on war ships in Long Beach, CA, where her husband was stationed. Returning to Texas, she became a licensed vocational nurse and worked in that profession for 32 years. She and her husband afforded many young people the opportunity to attend college by providing scholarships, financial and emotional support for many years. She and her husband moved to Minneapolis in 1981 where Rev. Timberlake was pastor of Holsey Memorial CME Church until his death in 1994. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2003, 5 to 7 pm at Estes Funeral Chapel, Mpls; services will be Wednesday, 11 am at Holsey Memorial CME Church, 1229 Logan Ave No, Mpls. MN
