Kathryn Evelyn Lane

Lane Kathy (nee Houchins) 10/10/42 to 2/20/03. Kathryn Evelyn Lane of Chanhassen passed away February 20. Preceded in death by mother, Evelyn Houchins. Survived by loving husband, Philip; son, Scott ( Rachel) Lane of Eden Prairie; daughter, Penny Lane of South St Paul; and 3 grandchildren, Amber, Roman and Hunter. Also survived by father, Elwood Houchins; brother, Keith Houchins; and sister, Carol Maveus, their families; and many dear, cherished friends. A former teacher and active in her church, Kathy will be remembered as a wonderful woman with a zest for life like none other. Though her later years provided many health challenges, she was immensely strong and graceful throughout. The Lane family would like to thank Kathy's doctors and the staff at United Hospital for her care, especially Dr. Georgia Taggart and Dr. Scott Tongin. Visitation Sunday, 5pm to 8pm, and funeral Monday, February 24th at 11 am(also with visitation 1 hour prior) at Werness Brothers Funeral Home, 3500 West 50th Street, Minneapolis 612-927-8641. After funeral, a reception will be held at Southview SDA Church. For family and friends in Grand Rapids, a memorial service will be held at Libbey's Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1st at 2pm. Memorials to MS Society or Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen.
