Ruth Susan Bachler

Bachler Ruth Susan (Sue) Bachler, beloved teacher, insightful political activist, wise counselor, generous, gentle friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24. She was 82. She is survived by her son, Kirk Bachler & his wife Robbie Kress of Minneapolis; her daughter, Kristen Bachler & her life partner Betty Kaplowitz of Silver City, NV; and by her sister, Elizabeth Stoesz of Prescott, AZ. In addition to her immediate family, she is remembered by the countless children whose lives she touched with her imagination and innovation and by her circle of cherised and devoted friends. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations in her memory be made to the children's collection of any public library, to Doctors without Borders; or to the Children's Home Society. A gathering to remember this remarkable woman will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 1-4 PM at the Washburn Public Library at 53rd & Lyndale in Minneapolis.
