Anthony M. Resch
Resch ATTENTION: Carpenters Union Local 851. Anthony M., Stanchfield, MN, formerly of Minneapolis and Rush City, passed away in his home on Friday, February 22, 2002 at the age of 80 of prostate cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Delores (Bloomquist); children, Tim Resch, Marilyn Timmons & partner, Bruce Neunsinger, Rosalie Resch, and Bradley Resch; grandchildren, Mark Timmons, Ali Resch and Kara LaBeau. He is also survived by Marie Sybrandt-Taft and husband, Roy, Julie Biggins-Christian and husband, Lloyd, Evelyn Sellman, Josie Thor, Albert and Mickie Resch, Barbara Cilek; sisters-in-law, Mille and Muriel. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Michelle Timmons; his parents, John and Bertha (Mohr) Resch; brothers, Leo, Leonard, Frank, and sister, Margaret Hemmers. Tony, as he was known, was a carpenter most of his life, first with the family firm, Resch Construction Company and later with Steel Structures and Twin City Garage, both in Mpls. He was an accomplished jack of all trades: electrician, bricklayer, and plumber. Tony worked as a cook at the Hinckley Civilian Conservation Corps Camp. While living in Minneapolis from 1954 until his retirement in 1983, he maintained strong ties to the Rush City area including a vacation cabin on Rush Lake. After retirement, he converted the cabin to their retirement home adding a basement and second floor and building a three car garage. He enjoyed fishing, both lake and ice; puzzles & cards, gardening including processing the fruits of his labor; planted many trees and continued to practice his trade in the area until 1997. For many years, Tony and Delores were regulars at area senior citizen dances. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday 2/25, 10 AM, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Braham, MN with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials preferred to Diocesan Retirement Center for Priests in care of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
