Martin Beatrix Louise, age 94, of Knute Nelson Memorial Home, Alexandria, died Feb. 22 at the Douglas County Hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1908 near East St. Louis, IL, and had lived in Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Minneapolis and Merryfield, MN. Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Carl; son, Carl Jr.; daughter-in-law, Audrey; brothers, Robert and Lewis Metz. Survived by son, Richard and fiancee Delores; daughter-in-law, Patricia Martin; grandchildren, Tom and wife, Kathy, Steve and wife, Lauri, Bob and wife, Cindy, Judy McClellan and husband, Chuck; great grandsons, Nicholas, Mathew, Andy and Colin. Louise was a very active lady who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. She had a witnessed hole in one at the age of 80. Louise and Carl lived in a home on Big Pelican Lake near Brainerd and wintered in Florida and Arizona for almost 30 years. A special thank you to the wonderful staff and nurses at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home, especially Jo Ann. Funeral service Tuesday 10 AM the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation one half hour prior to service at the cemetery chapel.
