Hildreth Bob Hildreth passed away peacefully in Naples on Feb., 20, 2002 after a very active life that began in Minneapolis, MN on Nov. 22, 1922. After serving in the pacific with the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946, he spent several years in radio, television, and newspaper positions in Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, finally settling down in Coral Gables, FL until 1995, when he moved to Naples. After getting a BA Degree in Communications from the University of Miami, he spent 30 years with Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan, ultimately as Senior Vice-President - Marketing. A veteran of radio and television, Bob was said to be a born performer. For ten years he was ``Ranger Bob'' on the Coral ``G'' Rangers television show, and later appeared frequently with Jack Benny on Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan Television Commercials. He also was in the popular ``Charlie'' Television Commercials for Twin City Federal Savings and Loan in the early 70's. For more than 40 years in the Coral Gables area, Bob was involved in a multitude of civic, charitable, youth, and fraternal activities. Bob was a Coral Gables City Commissioner-Vice Mayor from 1983 - 1993 and was the recipient of many Awards and Honors. Bob is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Isabelle; their three sons, Robert, in Edina, MN, Christopher in Irvine, CA, Carson, in Minneapolis, MN; and four Grandchildren, Eric, Alex, Kristin, and Tara. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 990 First Avenue South, Suite 200, Naples, FL, 34102.
