Josephine Beck

Beck Josephine, age 78, of St. Anthony and formerly of Northeast Mpls., MN, died peacefully Wednesday, February 20, 2002 after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. Retired employee of Despatch Industries. Jo was bright, witty, kind, thoughtful, and loving, had a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. She had many interests; was a fan of the arts; enjoyed reading, especially poetry; and was a great lover of classical music and opera. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survived by husband, Alan D. Beck; children, Sonia Fortier, Karin (Bill) VanDyke, and Alan (Karen Ann) Beck Jr.; grandchildren, Allison Beck, and Alex and Stephanie VanDyke; sister, Helen (George) Smrstik; and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Crystal Lake Funeral Home, corner of Penn and Dowling Aves. N., Mpls. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
