Regas George Dimitrios Regas, of Minnetonka, 100 yrs. old, fell asleep in the Lord Feb. 11, of a heart attack. Born Feb. 5, 1902 in Alepohori, Sparta Greece, married & raised family in Duluth. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Emily. Survived by brother, Lycourgos of Duluth; brother, Nicholaos of Alepohori; daughters, Despina (Mark) Macres of Minnetonka, Penelope (Steve) Rakes of Edina; sons, Demosthenes of Dover, NH, John of York, ME; 13 much loved grandchildren; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives & friends in Duluth, Mpls & Greece. ``Papou'' was a true example of a loving and giving father and grandpa. He will be deeply missed by those he has touched. George immigrated to the US in 1921 and operated several cafe's in Duluth between 1921 and 1974, the last of which was the Regas Cafe. He was a member of Twelve Holy Apostles (Duluth) and St. Mary's (Mpls.) Greek Orthodox Churches and a lifelong member of the fraternal organization of AHEPA. Visitation 6-8 PM and Trisagion prayer service 7 PM on Fri., Feb. 15 at St. Mary's Greek Orth. Church, 3450 Irving Ave S., Mpls.
