Shepard Beatrice Getsug Shepard, died January 31, 2003, at her home in McLean, Virginia. Services were held at Hodroff & Sons Chapel in St. Paul on February 2, 2003. Born October 28, 1914 in St. Paul, she was a graduate of St. Paul's Central High School, and of the University of Minnesota. She resided in Highland Park until her marriage to Frank Shepard in 1950. She was the first female Field Agent in the Minnesota Regional Office of the Internal Revenue Service Investigation Division, Corporate Fraud Section. Subsequently, she co-founded a family business with her husband in Indianapolis, Indiana, which became a national consulting firm, Advanced Audiometrics, Inc. Her work life extended to age 79, when she retired as newspaper librarian for the Indianapolis Newspapers, Inc. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant to a dean in the College of Liberal Arts at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. She is survived by her sister, Doris Getsug, and brother Earl Getsug, both of Eagan, her son, Julian Shepard, 46, and her granddaughter, Mathilda Shepard, 9, both of McLean, Virginia, and extended family in St. Paul, Chicago, Illinois, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
