Norrgard Leslie W. Norrgard, a lifetime Hopkins area resident, died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2003, one day before the birthday of his beloved wife of 63 years, Lolo, who died last March. They are once more united. Surviving are his sons & their wives, David L. & Jane of Roseville, and Robert & Colleen of Evergreen, CO; grandchildren include David S. of St. Paul, Andrew of Mpls, Gregory of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Deborah of Tucson, AZ, Jeffery of Richmond, VA, and Amanda of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren include Luke, Rachel, Polly, Sarah, Bryn, Tegan, Madeline, Emily, and Tristan. A lifetime member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Les served it in many lay capacities, as it was the center of both his personal and family life. He is well-known to generations of Hopkins shoppers for his over 45 years as a meat cutter at Hovanders, seeing to it that all had the right cut of meat for both daily and special gatherings. A special word of thanks is expressed to Chapel View Care Center staff who cared for Les the last several years, particularly Stephanie, Leets, Linda, and Pam. A memorial service will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Rd., Hopkins on February 13th at 11 AM, preceded by an informal gathering at church beginning at 10.
