Murphy Thomas O'Connor, 73, died peacefully with his family by his side on Feb. 5, 2002. Preceded in death by wife, Ruth Anne; parents, Frank & Myrtle; brother, Robert; sister, Mary. Survived by son, Michael; daughters, Betsy (Terry) Kramer, Terry (John) Egge, Colleen (Ed) Chavarrie; grandchildren, T.J. and Philip Kramer, Katryn Murphy, Ryann, Amanda and Scarlett Chavarrie and great-granddaughter, Samantha Lukkonen; brother, John (Cecelia Grunewaldt); sister-in-law, Susan Louis; and dog, Annie; many other relatives and friends. Tom graduated from Cathedral High School and St. John's University in St. Cloud. He was the consummate prankster, and always insisted on sharing his dry, Irish wit with anyone willing (or not) to listen. He loved basketball and golf, excelling in both. After the loss of his wife, Tom found comfort in his family, friends and co-workers at Mystic Lake. Memorial Mass Friday, 2 pm, St. Edward's Catholic Church, 9401 Nesbitt Ave S., Bloomington.
