John H. Janson

Janson John H., age 78, of Sauk Rapids, died Feb. 1, 2003. John was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Draper, SD to John W. & Anna (Weires) Janson. He married Gerry Karels on June 5, 1951. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force in 1966 after 21 years. Later, he farmed and worked as the Physical Therapy Chief Orderly at the St. Cloud Hospital for 15 years. He was a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254, 20 and Over Club, and Cloudy Town Sams. Survivors include his wife, Gerry of Sauk Rapids; children and their spouses, Col. John & Judy Janson of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Ellen & Scott Thorson of Eagan, Georgiana & Wayne Koska of Geneva, IL, Charles & Julie Janson of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Kristina, Carolyn, Eric, Kate, Daniel, Jennifer, Andrew, Samatha, and Cassandra; brothers and sisters, Marie Steiner, Bernard Janson, Adeline Then, Hildegard Grundhoefer, Rosanna Leither, and Albert Janson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Janson; and sister, Magdelina Janson. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
