Evans Roger Lynwood, retired from 3M, 1928 - 2003, suddenly and peacefully on February 1, age 74, of Inver Grove Heights. Born in Ipswich, England. Preceded in death by father, the Rev. Canon Evelyn Jesse and mother, Ethel Jane Evans; former spouse, Jane Baird Evans. Survived by loving wife, Wendy; children, Robert (Laura), Lawrence, Alison (fiance Brad Christensen); grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, Philip, Caroline and Derek; many nieces and nephews. Educated at Charterhouse, Keble College Oxford - BA, D. Phil, University of Minnesota - MS. 35 years at 3M as a research chemist and inventor, Patent Liaison, developer of intellectual property initiatives. Originator of the 3M Richard E. Drew Creativity Award, originator and editor Technical Forum newsletter. A lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, which he served in many ways; and a member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Co., an avid photographer and railroad enthusiast, past member Dakota County Planning Commission. Memorial service Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7:00 PM at ST. ANNE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2035 Charlton Rd., at Hwy. 110. The family will greet friends one hour before and after.
