Bendix, June M. age 88, of Anoka, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 19 at Mercy Hospital. June was a loving mother and grandmother and she was loved by family and many, many friends. She was a lifelong resident of Anoka and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. June was also a 60 year member of the Anoka American Legion Auxiliary and was very proud to be a 46 year volunteer for the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary having just "retired" in November 2013. Wherever June went, she was very proud of her city of Anoka, her state of Minnesota, and WCCO radio which was her favorite enter-tainment. Preceded in death by her husband, Bernhard "Barney"; parents, Arlow and Myrtle Mann. Survived by children, Jon (Karen) Bendix, David Bendix and Barb (Scott) Canakes; grandchildren, Christa (Alex) Lucas, Corey Canak-es, Jeff Eberlein, and Kristi (Matt) Wells; loving brother, John (Yvonne) Mann; nieces and nephew, Kathy (Walt) Gessler, Brian (Mary Beth) Mann, and Greg (Barb) Mann. A celebration of her life and memorial service will be held Thursday, July 24 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Ave. S., Anoka. Private interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Visitation 1 hour prior to services at the church only. Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
