Anderson Margaret Berge Anderson, 87, passed away on January 26 in Hopkins, MN. A graduate of Underwood (MN) High School and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, Margaret taught Senior High School English, speech, German, drama, and served as journalism advisor in Wadena, Fergus Falls, and Henning, MN. She also did graduate work at the University of Minnesota, and she was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega National Honor Society. Margaret married Kenneth Wendell Anderson, a graduate of Henning (MN) High School and the University of Minnesota, who was a newspaper editor, insurance underwriter, and realtor. Margaret served as Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the church council, choir member and soloist at Grace Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Henning Women's Reading Club and was elected an officer of the Federation of Women's Clubs, and State President of the Lutheran Daughters of the Reformation. During retirement, Margaret led senior adult bible studies. Motivated by her vibrant Christian faith, Margaret was consistently service oriented, putting the needs of others above her own. Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth Wendell Anderson; sisters, Helene Berge Ekse and Eunice Berge Stein Clauson; and her parents, Rev. Matthias Jacob Berge and Inga Grangaard Berge. She is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Anderson Sampo, Rosemount, MN, a brother, Johan O. Berge, Mound, MN, and a sister, Valborg Berge Solovskoy, Hopkins, MN, and their families. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 PM on January 29 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN, with visitation 1 hour prior.
