Landaas Morris E. Landaas, age 81, passed away January 25, 2003 at the N.C. Little Hospice in Edina. Morrie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Stella, whom he married in London, England during World War II, and his parents, Eilert & Jenny Landaas, who immigrated from Oslo, Norway. Morrie retired as an executive from Western Oil and Fuel and during his retirement years, managed the Kenny's Grocery Store on Xerxes Avenue in Minneapolis. Morrie will be remembered by his friends in Starbuck, St. Louis Park, and Edina, as well as his Mt. Olivet Bowling Team, golfing buddies, the morning coffee group at Kenny's Market, his extended family at Edina Park Plaza, and all those who knew him as a wonderful, kind and generous man. "Papa Morrie", as his family called him, will be deeply missed by his daughters, Jennifer (Ray), and Pam (Ed), and granddaughter, Kimberly (Brian). His love of life and spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved Morrie. Full Military Honors and Christian Burial will be given at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Please meet Thursday, January 30 at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis, at 10:15 AM to go in procession to Fort Snelling for burial at 11 AM, Assembly Area 4.
