Olson S.M. (Mag), of New Brighton, born January 24, 1911 in Mpls, lived most of his life in NE and St. Anthony Village. Graduated from Edison High School in 1929. Attended U of M College of Engineering. Was employed by CW Olson Manufacturing Company in 1932 and was president and sales manager from 1973 until he retired in 1983. Former president Minneapolis Builders Exchange. Member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, NE Kiwanis Club and former member of Midland Hills Country Club. Preceded in death by wife, Gladys; daughter, Nancy and her husband, Gerald Hopf. Survived by son, Douglas C. (Jeanette) Olson; 5 grandchildren, Ted Hopf (Karen), Eric (Sara), John, and Matthew Olson and Lee Caroline McNiesh (David); 3 great-grandchildren, Jack, Ellie and Ian; brother, Theodore Olson (Delores); sister-in-law, Ferda Olson. Services Wednesday, 5 pm at Washburn-McReavy NE Chapel, 29th & Johnson St. NE. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Visitation 1 hour before service. Washburn-McReavy 612-781-6828
