Anna C. Ocel

Ocel Anna C., 99, of Aitkin, formerly of McGregor, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 in the Aicota Health Care Center, Aitkin. She was born May 1, 1903 in Polunka, Czechoslovakia to John and Magdalene (Rastocan) Horvat. Anna was united in marriage to Stephen Ocel in 1925 in Minneapolis. She was a member of the McGregor Flower Club and Holy Family Catholic Church, McGregor. She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Mary Ann (Bill) Whiteside of Aberdeen, SD; sons & daughters-in-law, Richard (Rosemary) of Blaine and Robert (Betty) of Coon Rapids; daughter-in-law, Barb Ocel of Sioux City, IA; 14 grandchildren, Linda, Bill, Jerry and Patty Whiteside, and Chris, Terry, Tom, Pam, Steven, Diane, David, Matt, Susan and Cindy Ocel; 16 great-grandchildren, besides many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen, on January 7, 1990; son, Steven; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and her parents, John & Magdalene (Rastocan) Horvat. Visitation 1 hour prior to the 11 am Saturday funeral service in Holy Family Catholic Church, McGregor. Fr. John Fleischhacker will officiate. Burial Woodland Cemetery, McGregor. Arr. by Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
