Ormberg Hubert Norald Ormberg, passed away January 18, 2003 at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born in his family home in Grove City, MN on March 10, 1924. Hubert was the fourth of 12 children born to Frank and Hazel Ormberg. Hubert was a 1942 graduate of Bottineau, North Dakota High School. He served three years in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946 after earning four medals for distinguished service. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from North Dakota State University in 1950. Hubert worked as a County Agent for 4 years in North Dakota before operating a successful dairy equipment business in New Ulm, MN from 1956-1970. He owned and operated a three hundred acre farm in Nicollet County. He retired from farming in 1998. Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose Marie (Vandal) Ormberg; 5 children and their spouses, Colleen (Dan) Faber, Ron (Roxanne) Ormberg, Ken (Julie) Ornberg, Janice (Bill) Hamilton, Bob (Catie) Ormberg; and 15 grandchildren. Other survivors include siblings, Franklin (Mary Lou) Ormberg, Otto Ormberg, Joyce Hell, Betty Ann (Ansel) Strand, Gene (Rosie) Ormberg, Eleanor (Tom) English, Nora (Jerry) Koenig and Carol (Ken) Erickson; Rose Marie's brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Hubert is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Hazel Ormberg; siblings, Walter, Roy and Marguerite Ormberg. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday at NATIVITY OF OUR LORD CATHOLIC CHURCH (324 S. Prior Ave. at Stanford, St. Paul). Visitation 7-9 PM Thursday at O'HALLORAN AND MURPHY FUNERAL HOME (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul), 651-698-0796 and also from 9:30 AM until time of services at the church on Friday. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
