Scholtes Michael J. Scholtes, age 86 of Mpls, Pipefitters 455. Born in Manannah, MN July 12th, 1916 to Mathew & Mary Scholtes. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Peter Leo; sons, Dennis and Charles. Survived by beloved wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Dougherty); loving children, Mary Ann McCoy, Marlene Scholtes, Joseph, John, Catherine Felicetta, Raymond (Kathy), Robert (Carla), James, Claire (Jerry) Smith, and Christine Nelson; 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grand-children. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10 AM at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH 2424 18th Ave S., Mpls. Visitation Wednesday 4-8PM with 7 PM Rosary at THE THOMSON-DOUGHERTY MANSION, 2535 Park Avenue. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. Michael was a contributing member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 65 years. He participated in many youth activities including Stewart Field Activity Council and was a founding father for The City Inc. He was a 50 year member of the pipe fitters Local 455 and worked for Hassett Oil Company Modern Engineers for 39 years. He retired in the late seventies and traveled with Dorothy extensively throughout the Southwest. Michael was a great husband and father and will be missed by everyone that his life touched.
