Jost, Jay Jacob Age 82 of Blaine, passed away Nov. 27, 2017. Jay was born and raised in Buffalo, MN. He graduated from St. Cloud State University and then proudly served in the U.S. Army. He began his teaching career in Grand Rapids, MN where he taught history in the Junior High School for two years. He then received his Master's degree from The University of North Dakota and served as a Guidance Counselor at Columbia Heights Senior High from 1962 until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, daughters, Allison (Jim) Bell and Andrea (Ed) Micek, treasured grandchildren, Chelsea Bell (David), Lindsay Bell Martin (Kyle), Jack and Jay Micek; and sweet little great granddaughter Piper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He loved his family, his friends, and he loved being a counselor. He loved being in the woods with his bow and chasing walleyes on the Bigfork River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Rebecca Jost, and his brother, Jon. A celebration of his life will be held on Sat., Dec. 2 at 11:00. Visitation one hour prior. This will be held at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church at 10506 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids. Lunch will be served following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Feed My Starving Children or United Methodist Committee On Relief.
