Esther H. Mattila

Mattila Esther H., age 88. Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. Preceded in death by a son, William Lauri Mattila; husband, William J. Mattila; parents; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. Survived by daughters, Lois (James) Dyvig, and Marilyn (Duane) Matz; 8 beloved grandchildren, Harlan (Jennifer) Hill, Heath (Rae Ellen) Hill, Tia (Gary) Voskuil, Tami (Ray) Donnelly, Tim Dyvig, Julie Matz, Janell Matz, and Steven (Sarah) Matz; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Lauri (June) Anttila of Palo, MN; sister, Ellen (Walter) Maki of Aurora, MN. Esther was born in Palo, MN on October 13, 1914 to Anton & Ida Anttila. Married William J. Mattila in 1937 and moved to Esko, MN, then Duluth, and in 1947 moved to Cloquet, MN where she resided until 1982. In 1982, she moved to Minnetonka, MN and the last 4 years had resided at Castle Ridge Care Center in Eden Prairie. Memorial service Friday 1/24/03, at 2 PM, with visitation 1 hour before at the Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie chapel, 7625 Mitchell Rd. (1 block north of Hwy 5).
