Dani Jo Vavere

Vavere, Dani Jo Born in Port Arthur, TX to Belle and Ray McCormick in 1943. She attended Alma, WI High School and graduated as its Salutatorian. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, transferring eventually to Eau Claire, where she received a degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. It was there she also met her husband of 52 years, Valdis (Val). They had 2 children, Mark and Mason. Dani Jo was passionate about education and served on the St. Croix Falls School Board for 15 years, serving as President for most of the those years. She also served on the CESA Board of Control for 15 years. For most of the last 30 years, Dani Jo worked as Executive Vice President of Finance for Event Sales, a business owned by her husband and friend & partner, Tony Hofstede. In addition to her husband, Dani Jo is survived by her sons, Mark and Mason (Tara); grandsons, Collin and Michael; brother, Mike (Joan); numerous nephews and nieces. She was an avid Vikings fan and attended all their home games for many years. Above all else, she was a caring wife and mother and was fiercely devoted to her family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Assoc at ALZ.org preferred.
