Johanna Makynen
Makynen Johanna, 85, of Virginia, MN, died Tues., Jan. 22, 2002 at the home of her daughter with her three children at her side. She was born on April 8, 1916 in Franklin Location, MN to Bennedito & Josephine (Limmoncelli) Gentilini. She grew up and attended school in Virginia graduating from Roosevelt High School, class of 1934. On Oct. 29, 1938, she was united in marriage to Isaac Mauno Makynen in Virginia. Following marriage, the couple made their home in Virginia. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Virginia. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette I. Makynen of Blaine, MN; two sons, Howard (Doreen) Makynen of Fountain, CO, Allen (Elizabeth) Makynen of Duluth, MN; four grandchildren, Howard (Claudia) Makynen Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Dawn (Lee) Bass of Fountain, CO, Joseph Makynen of Duluth, MN, Sean Makynen of Duluth; four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Michelle, Austin and Jessica; a brother, August Gentilini of Virginia, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac M. on July 28, 1981; four brothers, Alfred, Adolph, Primo and Secundo Gentilini; a sister, Marie Skorseth; and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial 1 PM Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. Rev. John O'Donnell will be celebrant. Visitation one hour prior to Mass with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 12 noon. Burial Greenwood Cemetery. Arr. by Range Funeral Home, Virginia.
