Burke Jacob, age 78, of St. Louis Park. Died peacefully on January 15 surrounded by his family after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Esther; beloved children, Ellen Sue and Jon Parker, Mitchell and Jan Burke, David and Darcy Gilbert Burke, Rachel and Michael Klein, and Perry and Cynthia Burke; and the ``dividends of his life,'' his 14 grandchildren: Adam, Betsy and Danielle Parker, Sam, Jonathan and Joey Burke, Zackary, Shayan and Izabelle Gilbert Burke, Joshua, Jesse and Jordan Klein, and Julia and Max Burke. Jack devoted his entire life giving of himself in service to others. He was President of B'nai Israel Synagogue in Grand Forks, North Dakota for 26 years, served as BBYO advisor for the Dakotas Region for over 20 years, and lovingly cared for others through the Chevra Kadisha. He was an active volunteer at his synagogue and in the Minneapolis Jewish community, supplied sukkot to many families in the Twin Cities, was an avid gardener, and was completely devoted to his family. Funeral service THURSDAY (TODAY), 1 PM, BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 West 26th Street, St. Louis Park. Memorials preferred to the Rachel and Michael Klein Inclusion Fund at the Minneapolis Jewish Community Center, the Minneapolis Jewish Day School, Hadassah, or Beth El Synagogue.
